MEDITECH President Honors Customer Excellence During CIO Award Ceremony

MEDITECH's customer events have long served as venues for our hospitals to come together and share their progress with I.T., as well as its impact on care delivery and business processes. But our 10th annual CIO Technology Workshop was a particularly memorable example of how our customers are continuing to prosper and excel during challenging times—as representatives from several of MEDITECH's most distinguished health care organizations joined onstage for a special award presentation.

Representatives on behalf of our Stage 6 hospitals, as well as the health care winner of the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, were among those recognized before their peers by MEDITECH President and COO Howard Messing, who gave his perspective on some of the obstacles health care providers have been facing in recent years.

"Over the past decade, the health care industry has seen so many changes, but we're facing even more over the next five to ten years. It's scary to think that when the baby boomers hit retirement age, we'll likely need to provide twice the amount of health care that we do today," said Messing.

"But even though it's a bit overwhelming to think about how much we still have to accomplish, it's also exciting that there's so much potential for us to do good. I'm so glad to be able to honor these hospitals, for already making a positive impact, and showing all of us that we can achieve clinical and financial excellence even under the most difficult circumstances."
