Vice President Biden Recognizes Baldrige Award Winner Poudre Valley Health System

Poudre Valley Health System (Fort Collins, CO) recently attended a special award ceremony at our nation's capital, recognizing winners of the 2008 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Vice President Joe Biden personally congratulated Poudre Valley for revolutionizing health care, and for being among the top one percent of hospitals in the U.S.

Accepting the award on behalf of Poudre Valley, CEO Rulon Stacey saluted the commitment of employees, physicians, and staff during the hospital's Baldrige journey, and expressed his pride for being recognized among the best health care providers in the country.

In addition, the information technology leadership at Poudre Valley affirmed the important role technology has played in leading the hospital to meet the highest standards of patient care.

"We have always believed in supporting business through technology," said Mark Clark, director, application services at Poudre Valley. "The Baldrige process helped us to focus on the most important solutions for our organization, and helped us align our technology with our strategic direction. Our automated solutions, such as bedside documentation, Bedside Verification (BV), and clinical imaging integration all support our vision of providing world class health care."
